Typical winter season shinty game on a quagmire, particularly in Ailish Kelly’s goal area which resulted in many difficult clearances in the first half. Giving that Cons captain Mike Comyn (Panther) won the coin toss, you can’t blame him for not wanting that end of the pitch. If you combine this advantage with Claire Seymour’s superb corners, then goals were bound to follow. 
Reuben Thompson performed excellently and was as fast on his feet as always, creating lots of movement towards the opposing end of the field, helping to both create chances and score for his teammates. Matt Mossop also played at his usual high standard managing to keep enough of his powerful shots below the cross bar to take Cons’s lead to 4-0. 
Throughout the game CSM Gold were on target many times and were unlucky not to get a goal. With Patrick Hutchinson pinned in defence this helped the Cons team to make sure Jamie Cranston didn’t have an easy job of receiving the ball up front as Josh Chant and Nathan Hope carried out their usual fab job of keeping the opponents out of the panther’s lair.
All in all a great performance all round for both teams
