After a day of typical Cornish weather in Mabe which had already seen two games of Shinty being played, it was once again time for Cornwall to take to the field against Devon and battle for the Kamm Dumnonia.

Despite everyone on the Cornwall side having played in the previous games, their blood was still flowing as pressure was immediately applied following the throw-up. The early pressure paid off as Cornwall made a goal-scoring opportunity which was slotted in by the vice-captain James Beaumont. A couple of minutes later Cornwall notched up a second goal, once again James Beaumont was the scorer from right in front of the net. Further dominance led to many corners and opportunities in the Devon half. This eventually led Daniel Martin to take the ball right in front of the goal before finding the back of the net. Devon were not without their own chances in the first half as the Cornwall defence was called upon, keeping out the visitors. Eventually Devon converted to bring them back into the game. As the half came to a close the score stood Cornwall 3-1 Devon.

The score must have stunned Devon a little, as replacements were made to the Devon side with Matt Mossop coming on for John Pullen. This change spurred on the visiting team as they started applying pressure, seeking to start the second half the way they had finished the first. The game became more evenly matched as both sides made equal amounts of chances, with Matt Mossop shooting high over the goal. After 10 minutes Cornwall made two substitutions, with Ashley Farber coming on for Vicky Lipscombe in defence and Harley James Birchley coming on in centre for Heather Tewnion, with Matthew Russell moving to the forwards. Despite the changes no goals were scored though Harley managed to find the back of the net after a bit of a scuffle next to the goal. However the ball was declared dead after the referee consulted the goal judge. Eventually the clock ran down and as last play was called Devon had one chance to have the final say of the game with a goal hit. The ball fell to James Beaumont who, after a couple of mishits, got the ball off the pitch and secured the win for Cornwall.
